Many French doors are ones that work with side panels. These are panels that are separate from the actual doors but work as buffer materials between the doors and the rest of one’s home. They are items that are used for decorative and in many cases functional purposes.

A typical side panel is going to be one that is narrower than the French doors themselves. A panel will be of the same height and will feature the same type of finish though. Window patterns that are made with wood in between the glass panels can also be used.

Side panels can work as areas that lights can be installed on. The top material can be used as an area where a light can be installed. This is so it will be easier to find one’s doors on a home. This can also be used to create front lights for front doors and porch lights for back doors.
